Inappropriate picture in this post.

Aiden's first poop in the toilet! It was gonna be in the bathtub...but with quick maneuvering we made it (halfway, he did poo a little on Joel...lol).

baby keeps you busy.

Having a baby is amazing.  Having a baby is difficult (literally-labor was hard work!). Taking care of a baby constantly is rewarding in so many ways, but it is also so exhausting at times.  I fully understand why anyone with at least one child tells you to 'wait'. I am now one of those people telling my newly-wed friends to wait.

I love my littler mister so much that I don't know how my heart handles it.  I am obsessed with all things even a tiny bit related to baby A- "aww look at that bald old man...he looks just like AJ".  BUT I would be lying if I said I didn't think of the times pre-baby.  The coffee runs that didn't require me to lug around a 20 LB carseat (thank you starbucks drive thru!). The late nights of watching romantic comedies with hubster.  The wine and pizza nights with friends.  writing, like real creative-not baby related-writing.

AND this is why I have decided to give myself 1-4 hours a week that isn't baby time.  My hubby has softball on Tuesdays & training 1-2 times a week & vacuuming 1-4 times a week (LOL & true story).  I think this time for my husband is great because it helps him keep his sanity.

I think doing something even for 1 hour a week without obligation to another living, wonderfully amazing & adorable being would do wonders for my identity.  Yes, my identity...somehow in all of this madness and wonderfulness called marriage & mommyhood, I've lost a little bit of my creativity.  I love this blog because I get to mix my domestic life with something I've loved doing for so many years & I am chronicling memories that I will have for an endless amount of time.

BUT...

I am going to give myself the time to write stories. poems. Whatever I feel compelled to write.  I keep thinking of ideas (and finally writing them down so I can remember them).  I want to take these ideas and do something with them. I might even post them here...

From this day forward,
Mac is back.

p.s. feel free to remind me to write. or pester me. or DEMAND me to create a story for you to read/edit!!! (yes, 3 exclamation points means business).

My house has been invaded

by baby toys! (but WE love this thing...20-30 minutes of entertainment for baby/20-30 minutes of free time for parents!)

impromptu SD weekend {picture heavy}

Breastfeeding hotel style
This weekend we were fortunate (and pretty lucky) to experience our first Quad rugby tournament at Balboa Park, San Diego.  Uncle Timmy's team won the tournament! It was such a cool experience and quad rugby is pretty intense/physical/exciting.  The entire weekend was fun-filled with an AMAZING dinner (Peking Duck...MMM MMM!), a fancy hotel room, a rugby tourny, and then another yummy dinner with Nino Dino and Nina Landis!

I love spending time with my hubby and little mister, and I feel incredibly lucky to have a network of friends (that are like family) to experience new things with.  Enjoy some photos from the weekend.

Baby did not like his baby snuggie. (AND dood, organize Yo' carseat. that is a real clutterfest)

fancy staying (and diaper changing station!)

it's a little blurry, but that is a COMPLIMENTARY water at a HOTEL!!!

Coaching

Is exhausting.

Baby A is the team mascot on Wednesdays. I'm lucky to have a work environment (& boss) that allows for my little Mister to join me on my coaching adventures.

For now, I am the extreme attatchment parent- I wear him in my sleepy wrap while coaching (definitely a top 5 baby must have), but what am I gonna do when he crawls? Walks? Oh I don't even wanna think about that!

What would you do with your babe at a kid friendly work environment? Hopefully, I find a sitter by then...

From this day forward,

M

(some of) Baby A's Babysitters

Sammy (Aunite Madi's friends) helps out on Tuesdays!

Jeff-Helped out on a Wednesday! (didn't change a diaper tho!) lol.

Littler mister is lucky to have so many loving, caring, & patient people that are willing to give Joel & I a hand!  Without their help, Baby A would be stuck hanging out with Coco and the killer turtler, Mr. dum-dum (did i mention that our turtle KILLED all of our fish?!). and JK about leaving my son alone.  Currently Yaya is the sitter on Monday & Tuesdays (and other random days), but we are so blessed to have people from my work and Auntie's friends to help us hang out with baby A.

SO thank you thank you THANK YOU!  He loves and cherishes the time he gets with each of you. (& I couldn't do my coaching job without their help.)

From this day forward,
I heart my Friends and family.

10 Baby A updates

  1.  He's still the cutest little mister in my house.
  2.  He's graduated to Medium Gdiapers! (which probably means he's gained some weight, double yay!)
  3. He's a roller and a scootch-er (is that even a word)
  4. He can grab and hold his toys.
  5. Everything you hand him ends up in his mouth. (and so do his hands, our fingers, my hair...)
  6. He didn't enjoy his first Halloween-we never made it out the door to visit the neighbors (but that's ok, we cuddled and watched football!)
  7. He witnessed his first Servite VS. Mater Dei game at Angel's stadium (and servite won!)
  8. At first rival game, Baby A got to sit next to an ORIGINAL Servite football team member!
  9. Coco and Baby A are becoming friends-she even lets him grab pet her!
  10. He laughs now and it rocks!

Fire it up Friars!

He was listening to the game while he rested his eyes.

my baby is the coolest

So freaking cool.
He laughed recently (on Halloween) and it was the coolest/happiest laugh i've ever heard. I definitely can get used to this little mister's giggles.

♥♥♥♥

a mother's cure

a PEDI-cure.
Had the day off work, still had a babysitter for baby A (YaYa), took advantage of a few hours and went to a nail salon with my sister!

Matching toes/paws
Ok, this might sound odd, BUT it wasn't all that I remembered.  The chemically smells gave me a headache, the screaming children (yes, in a nail salon!) kind of ruined the mood, and making small talk with a stranger was just not what i wanted to do. Never-the-less, my feet feel pretty, which means I feel pretty and i did have some fun with my little (not so little) Sis.  Thank you YaYa for hanging with the babes while i got my feet tickled and my toes painted purple!

Is there something you loved to do pre-baby, but now post-baby it isn't as awesome? or is there something that is STILL super great that you wish you had more time for?

From this day forward,
Mac
