Dear Baby A,
Today you are 6 months old.
You are grabbing at my face and glasses as we speak (You just stuck your finger in my nose), but you are awesome. You have grown into such a little stud. On the day you were born, you stayed awake for a couple of hours to meet your family. You had the look of concentration going on-scrunched forehead & a stare that was mesmerizing to all of us 'grown ups'. I catch you making this same face now, but when you are discovering the world through play.
I love watching you feel your toys or the cat's tail or your daddy's scruff. You've been smiling for a few months now, but every time you flash that BIG, gummy grin, I can't help but smile right back at you! I think I'm in love with every face you make. The scrunch-y forehead is a favorite amongst your family and friends. The contemplative "turtle" face. The pooping face (with accompanying grunts).
You've started doing this high pitched, short burst of a scream when you are upset, but not really upset. We will get it on film soon so we can share it and have it to show to your wife one day! I don't even want to think about you having a wife...SLOW DOWN. Be a baby for a LONG LONG time.
I love you so much my heart can barely stand it!
Happy half birthday Boobie!

Aiden:5 months
Your son is 5 months.
He has become your everyday fashion accessory- you wear him around the house, at work, when you go to the bathroom. You feel his tiny body becoming a bigger-tiny body.
You feel his strength when he pulls at your shirt as if to say, "Nurse me mama, nurse me." You feel his strength when he pulls your hair or kicks his legs when you are trying to put on a clean diaper.
You see his thoughts, well you think you can see his thoughts when he scrunches his little forehead or puckers his lips.
You love watching him sleep. You love watching him suck on his toes. You even love how his face turns red and he grunts when he's having a movement.
You notice his hair is starting to grow back and that his cheeks are becoming chubby and round. You kiss him one hundred million gazillion times a day and that doesn't feel like enough.
You want/don't want him to learn how to sit up. You don't want him to crawl (mostly because you aren't ready to 'baby-proof' the apartment).
He is 5 months.
He loves bath time/splash time with Daddy. He loves to nurse. He grabs and holds tightly to the bottle as if to say, "Don't you take this away from me. gulp. gulp. gulp."
He loves staring at and discovering new things-like his toes and reflection, or the inside of a cup. His best friend is Daddy. His partner in crime is Coco. The love of his life is Mama.
He wants to be held. He hates the car seat, but loves car rides with the windows down and Bob or Jack playing on the radio.
He wants to stand. He wants the freedom to crawl and sit and become independent.
You are discovering mommy-hood with a 5 month old.
He is discovering life at 5 months old.

10 Baby A updates
- He's still the cutest little mister in my house.
- He's graduated to Medium Gdiapers! (which probably means he's gained some weight, double yay!)
- He's a roller and a scootch-er (is that even a word)
- He can grab and hold his toys.
- Everything you hand him ends up in his mouth. (and so do his hands, our fingers, my hair...)
- He didn't enjoy his first Halloween-we never made it out the door to visit the neighbors (but that's ok, we cuddled and watched football!)
- He witnessed his first Servite VS. Mater Dei game at Angel's stadium (and servite won!)
- At first rival game, Baby A got to sit next to an ORIGINAL Servite football team member!
- Coco and Baby A are becoming friends-she even lets him
grabpet her! - He laughs now and it rocks!

Aiden: 14 Weeks
14 weeks.

Do you see his RED-ish hair?
We had his 3 month well baby check-up yesterday.
Baby A's stats are:
- 25 & 1/2 inches tall (2 inches more than he was at his 2 month!)
- 10 lbs. 12 ounces. (only 8 ounces more then he was at his 2 month!)
- teething has officially started. (bottom two make some appearances every now and then).
- cried for exactly 3.34 seconds after getting his one and only vaccine of the appointment. (Yes, I am following a modified vaccination schedule. Very spread out and only the 'MUST HAVE' ((and I'm not even sure if I believe 100% that they are a must have)) vaccines. Also I'm not sure double parenthesis is what you are supposed to do when you had a side note in a side note...?)
- Stood up on the neck strength test.
- In an Argentine accent, "What are you doing there, mister? you aren't supposed to stand at your age, sit back down." IHeartOurPediatrican.
- because he stood all the way up she isn't as worried about his SUPER. duper. slow. weight gain.
- Another awesome quote in an Argentine accent, "I'm glad you brought your husband last time," (to the baby) "I see daddy's legs and I know why you are so skinny."
- This is more of a highlight then a stat: Aiden makes friends everywhere he goes. People LOVE babies. and this baby will smile and coo for just about any brunette or elderly person!

Our morning ritual-secret sharing time.
I'm onto my first full week of work. I'm glad I decided to work only 5 days instead of my usual 6 because I am so relieved that tomorrow is my day off. This mama is tired. My eyes, brain and mouth aren't quite working with the same precision as pre-pregnancy. Coaching gymnastics is about seeing the tiniest error and being able to articulate a correction in terms that either a teenage girl, a middle-school girl, or a kindergartner would understand. And my coach brain isn't fully back to it's pre-pregnancy weight. Ha!
I hope my choreography brain can sync up with my body because it's time for new floor & beam routines. Love&Hate this time of year. I love it because I get to create and move and have some one-on-one time with each of my athletes. I hate it because it is exhausting and sweaty and hard work creating routines that are unique and that my gymnast will enjoy competing. I love it because it's a great workout. I hate it because it's a workout (Stop being so lazy Macrae!!!).
What are some fun/different ways you work out? I need some ideas that don't involve a treadmill or the stair-master.
From this day forward,

Aiden: 12 weeks
Please excuse the bad photography...(I had the camera set to some funky ISO & it completely washed out these photos). ::sad face:: they had great potential though. I took a few on my camera phone and those came out alright.

Baby at 12 weeks
- AJ has been mister cranky pants. I swear it's teeth, but most are skeptical.
- He still rocks the blue-eyed look most days (some days I see green).
- Breastfeeding champ. wants to eat constantly after 5 PM (this might be an issue considering I return to work on Monday-enter super sad face here).
- Naps in bassinet or playpen for up to 45 minutes! Hey, it's a start.
- Sucks on his hands- he can practically fit his fist into his mouth!
- Sucks on his toes- with a little help...
- Talks in full sentences, "iiii ooooooo aaa!" & "ahhh uuuu oooh" lol. One time I heard him say, "Mommy is the best."
- Still recovering from my breast issues, but doing SO much better. I go back in a few weeks for another
giant-needleaspiration. - Go back to work on Monday. nervous/excited/sad.
- Finding outfits that are more breastfeeding appropriate. Finding out that I can't use dresses I already own for wedding because my chest is HUGE.
- Finding that I have more energy-maybe I'm adapting to the young baby schedule, maybe I'm actually getting more rest.

Muscle man poses at 9 weeks!
Please excuse my sons outfit. we were playing dress up! lol. I thought last week would be the last 'weekly' update post, but i'm thinking i will go until i don't want to do them anymore. but fear not, i will then switch to monthly posts!
9 weeks is exciting because...
- Aiden rolled over during tummy time a few days ago. He was determined. first he lifted his head and both of his feet. then he tilted his head and leaned and leaned and...ROLLED OVER! then he cried.
- He got his first vaccination. this is not exciting actually, he was a champ when he got it, but he was crankyspanky crybaby for a few days.
- he stays awake for longer periods of time during the day (and night ::sigh::) this is pretty cool because we have long conversations about his favorite books, baseball, and how much he loves his mommy- he tells me everyday that he loves me the mostest!
- we ventured on a family outting. we brought auntie madi, yaya, Pa, daddy, uncle JJ, Auntie ballerina (until we think of a name!) and Dean to the International Street Fair. it was overwhelming but fun. we even breastfed while walking around (so not that easy with such crowded streets, but doable) glad we did it, but was even more glad to get home afterwards.
- he now grabs and hits things. see pictures below.
